Industry Based Credential: Fundamentals of JavaScript, Functional Programming, and Web Development

Operation Spark will guide students to learn about the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and Java Script. 


This course provides an introduction to computer programming using JavaScript and is designed for high school students with little to no prior experience in coding. It aims to teach students the following:

  • core concepts of computer programming

  • basic front-end web development skills

  • the role computation can play in solving problem


Students also learn software development career options through guest speakers and field trip opportunities.

Students are trained in HTML and CSS programming and equipped with the skills to build websites, simple games, and animation.


Students will create a live website that hosts all of their projects from the semester. This website acts as a portfolio to show future colleges and employers the work they have completed in the course.
