Industry Based Credential: Safety & Pollution Prevention (S/P2) & ASE Certification

Students enrolled in this course will develop skills and knowledge to become a qualified auto technician, develop problem solving skills through automotive diagnostic testing, and learn management and entrepreneurial skills.​ Students will also learn about the hazards of the shop environment-before they enter the workplace. 

Instruction areas include: 

  • Automotive Service Safety

  • Automotive Service Pollution Prevention

  • Brakes

  • Electrical/Electronic Systems

  • Maintenance and Light Repair

Students will work in an automotive shop located in the Literacy & Technology Center. There are many immediate opportunities available in entry level automotive field positions with an average salary of $30,000 for technicians
